Los Alamitos Jazz Guitarist Todd Scales received recognition and a monetary scholarship award for his outstanding performance at the band’s Saturday performance at Steamers Jazz Club. Los Alamitos brought two jazz bands to perform for an audience of family, friends and fans who came to watch the young musicians perform on the jazz club’s stage. Steamers and Friends of Jazz host the event throughout the spring for 11 different bands in the local Orange County area. All the participating bands also receive a stipend from Friends of Jazz to use toward their jazz programs.
