Thanks to the hard work of Jennifer Hart and the students of Sunset Lane Elementary School’s fourth grader recorder program, guests at the 2016 Mardi Gras Ball were able to see the direct result of Friends of Jazz’s mission with a performance by these beginning musicians. The Fourth Grade Recorder program provides 10 weeks of lessons, a recorder and songbook that the children get to keep and an infusion of enthusiasm that will hopefully continue throughout the years. These students have been practicing for several months and this was a much anticipated night and special performance for them.
